A BIT ABOUT THE OWNER

Preston Hoey

I grew up in Oakwood, Ohio and began learning about lawn maintenance the same way many people do, by mowing my grandparents lawn with my Grandfather.  I quickly saw that working outside in the landscape of my grandparents 2 acre lot in Washington Twp., ignited a true passion of mine.  As I progressed through Junior High I found it was also a good way to earn some spending money as I entered my Sophomore year in High School. 

As a sophomore in High School I landed my first job with A3L Landscape and quickly picked up the professional aspect of the industry by being given the responsibility of running my own crew, meeting and listening to both potential and established clients' needs and wants, hauling equipment, equipment handling and maintenance, and learning the business not only as a pastime but as a future primary income. Inspired to continue to learn, I began studying patio and paver design and hardscaping during this same time, inspiring me to embark on a journey into construction and disaster restoration to broaden my scope of skills.  Today at only 21 years old and only 6 years later, my skill set has grown from mowing lawns, to now encompassing general carpentry, coordinating projects and material deliveries to large loss job sites, heavy equipment operating, structural repairs, landscaping, lawn maintenance, and hardscaping.  

As a result of determination and dedication to the industry, my passion to learn and gain more knowledge about the green industry only deepens with each season here in Ohio and continues to grow to this day. Being dependable, professional, and performing high-quality work remain my top priorities, as does equipping myself with as much horticulture knowledge as possible as I intend to progress through horticulture school in the near future. The beauty and diversity that I get to enjoy and call home here in Dayton, Ohio is truly a blessing that excites me every morning as I am greeted with new changes from day to day. 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Buster, my Grandma, my parents, my two younger siblings. Boating, snowboarding, horseback riding, fishing, skateboarding, music, motocross, and football are just a few of my favorite pastimes.
